Давай разберемся с заданием вместе. Нам нужно поставить глаголы в скобках в правильное время.
Читаем письмо:
"How are you? At the moment, I (1) .... (be) really busy recently because of my exams."
- "At the moment" означает, что ситуация происходит прямо сейчас, но "recently" указывает на недавнее время. Подходит "have been", то есть Present Perfect Continuous.
Письмо продолжается:
"One of the most important days of my school life – my prom night just (2) .... (be) over. Let me tell you all about it!"
- "Just" указывает на завершенность события, используем Present Perfect "has been".
"Here in the USA, schools (3) .... (have) prom nights every year to congratulate the students who (just) (finish) their final school year."
- Для регулярных действий используем Present Simple: "have". "who (just) (finish)" — для недавнего завершенного действия используем Present Perfect: "have just finished".
"Everyone (6) .... (go) home and (7) .... (dance) the evening away in style."
- Подходит Past Simple: "went".
- Тоже Past Simple: "danced".
"By the best outfits and the tiaras and the fancy dresses! The prom (10) .... (start) at 8 so John and I (11) .... (pick up) me up by car at 8 o’clock in his new car."
- Для действия, произошедшего конкретно в прошлом, используем Past Simple: "started".
- Тоже Past Simple: "picked up".
"I (12) .... (be) quite nervous at the beginning but now anyway, I’ll write and tell you all about the big day!"
- Подходит Past Simple: "was".

Here in the USA, schools have prom nights every year to congratulate the students who have just finished their final school year. Everyone went home and danced the evening away in style. By the best outfits and the tiaras and the fancy dresses! The prom started at 8, so John picked me up by car at 8 o’clock in his new car. I was quite nervous at the beginning but now anyway, I’ll write and tell you all about the big day!
