Based on your description, here is an analysis regarding its potential IELTS Writing score:

  1. Task Achievement (TA): You provided a clear overview of the bar graph, noting key comparisons and summarizing sales data for both bakeries. However, the response could be strengthened by including more specific numbers and insights, as well as clarifying the overall trends.

    • Score: 6
  2. Coherence and Cohesion (CC): The response flows relatively well, with a logical structure that compares the bakeries and their products. However, there are some areas where transitions could be smoother, and clearer separation of ideas would be beneficial (e.g., discussing sales separately for each bakery before comparing them).

    • Score: 6
  3. Lexical Resource (LR): A good range of vocabulary is used, such as “bakeries,” “sweet items,” “best sellers,” and “least popular,” which demonstrates some flexibility. However, there are occasional spelling errors ("Bernie’s Bums" is incorrectly spelled as "Bernie's Bums" at one point) and phrasing issues (e.g., “through chase” seems unclear).

    • Score: 6
  4. Grammatical Range and Accuracy (GRA): The response shows some variety in sentence structures but contains several grammatical errors (e.g., "sales slightly about 120" should be "sales slightly above 120") and awkward phrasing. There are also issues with pluralization and verb forms that detract from clarity.

    • Score: 5

Overall Estimated IELTS Score: 5.5 to 6.0

To improve your score, focus on providing more detailed data, ensuring clear and cohesive comparisons, refining vocabulary usage, and addressing grammatical errors.
