What is more, prices of accommodation and service are sometimes higher in Russia than abroad. Others want to go sightseeing and see famous museums, ruins of ancient towns, try national dishes and get to know more about national culture and traditions, practice foreign languages. Most of tourists just want to have relaxing holidays, to lie in the sun and swim in the warm sea. Tourism is big business. It is very bad for our country’s economy because Russian tourists spend their money, which they earn in their home country, in foreign countries. Money and jobs from tourism provide conditions for preserving country’s environment and heritage. Russia has a very rich history, a lot of beautiful old and modern towns, excellent museums, beautiful landscapes and national reserves. But a lot of Russian people have never been there. Russia has great opportunities for developing ecotourism, farm and ethnical tourism. What should be done to make more Russian people spend their holidays at their home country and attract more tourists from foreign countries? Tourism puts money into countries to help the people, their cultural heritage, physical environment and their future. Domestic tourism is good for Russian economy; it can give us some new vacancies and money for preservation and reconstruction of our historical monuments. It can bring substantial economic gain to poor regions where there is no industry and agriculture? How to make Russia more popular tourist destination both for foreign and domestic tourists?
