A SIMPLE WAY TO HELP THE EARTH Many people still don't think that recycling is necessary. Sometimes, it feels like too much work to choose which bin to put our trash in and to have many bins to empty. But really, separating our trash is not that hard and only takes a few minutes. In some places, people get money for things they recycle, like plastic and glass bottles. What we can recycle varies in different places. In Reading, my hometown in the UK, I can recycle paper, cardboard, plastic and glass bottles, cans, and batteries. When I moved to university in Chester, I learnt that there could also recycle clothes, shoes, electrical items, ink cartridges, mobile phones, plastic pots, and foll. I also had a compost bin for food waste like meat, fish, fruit, vegetables, tea bags, and garden waste. Now I live in Melilla on the north coast of Africa. Here I can only recycle paper, cardboard, and glass. It's hard for me to throw something away when I know I could recycle it somewhere else. Sometimes it's hard to understand why recycling helps the Earth. The main idea is that recycling saves the eriergy that would otherwise be needed to produce waste products again. Production and other polluting factors like transport are increasing harmful gases in the atmosphere, raising global temperatures. This results in weather changes in some areas, leading to natural disasters and problems in farming and agriculture. The saddest part is that the most affected areas are the developing countries that don't have enough money or resources to recycle waste like we do. Also, many people believe that a change in global temperature is natural and has happened throughout history. While that's true, it's been scientifically proven that human activity causing global warming affects climate change. The global temperature is rising quickly, and soon we may not be able to live in certain parts of the world because of extreme weather. The world is already overpopulated, and as a result we may not have enough space. Nobody wants to live next to a landfill, Packaging is included in the price of products we buy, and putting them in a landfill wastes resources and money. Plastic bags are a good example. Why do we get a plastic bag every time we go to the shop? In some places, people have to pay for plastic bags, so using a reusable bag can save both money and resources, it's also easier because plastic bags don't last long and aren't easy to carry. Moreover, making items from wood, card, and paper causes deforestation, destroying animals habitats and making them endangered. Recycling paper and card can help prevent this There are also negative aspects to recycling as well. For example, melting old plastic down to make new items can use a lot of energy. Because of this, some cities choose to limit what they can recycle and send general waste to be burned. While this is a way to produce energy, it also causes more pollution. Despite this, as long as we keep producing more waste, environmental damage will cause more problems and we will have less resources so we need a way out. For most people recycling by separating our trash seems too difficult. Right Wrong Doesnt say
