Why does the status of the guest room change? The status of the guest room changes for several reasons, including: check-in of a new guest, check-out of an existing guest, cleaning and maintenance of the room, and guest requests for specific conditions (e.g., Do Not Disturb). The status is updated to reflect the current availability and condition of the room.
What department is responsible for changing the room status? The Front Office department, particularly the front desk staff, is primarily responsible for changing the room status. They work closely with housekeeping to ensure that room statuses are updated accurately and in a timely manner.
