"On the territory of the Botanical Garden, there are two ponds — the Upper and the Lower. Currently, they are the oldest bodies of water in Samara. The maximum depth of the Upper pond is three meters, while the Lower pond is six meters deep.
Surrounding the ponds is a unique environment that attracts various animals. Willows grow along the banks, along with about 50 species and other rare aquatic plants. The ponds are inhabited by mallards and moor hens. Migratory ducks and herons are also found here. Additionally, owls, jays, and wild pigeons are regularly seen in the area.
It's especially pleasant to walk by the ponds on hot days. There is an observation platform on the territory of the Upper pond. Nearby, there is also a Wet Ravine. Warm water flows there in both winter and summer. The water does not freeze and is suitable for drinking."
