The Tale of the Lost Girls and the Dragon's Cabin
Once upon a time, in a small village surrounded by a vast, enchanted forest, lived two best friends named Lily and Emma. Always curious, the girls loved to explore the woods, gathering wildflowers and listening to the songs of birds.
One sunny afternoon, they decided to venture deeper into the forest than ever before. The trees were tall and ancient, their leaves whispering secrets in the wind. As they wandered, they laughed and played, but soon they realized they had strayed too far from the path. The sunlight began to fade, and anxiety filled the air.
"Do you think we can find our way back?" asked Lily, her voice trembling slightly.
"I'm sure we'll find it," Emma reassured her, though she was worried too. "Let’s just keep walking."
As they pushed through the underbrush, the girls came across a clearing. In the middle stood a mysterious cabin, its walls covered with vines and glowing with an unusual light. Intrigued, they approached the cabin, feeling a mix of fear and excitement.
To their surprise, the door creaked open, and they stepped inside. The room was warm and inviting, filled with colorful cushions and the scent of sweet berries. In the corner, they spotted a small dragon curled up, its scales shimmering like jewels.
The dragon, waking from its nap, opened its eyes and looked at the girls curiously. "Welcome, little ones! I’ve been waiting for you," it said in a gentle voice.
Lily and Emma were astonished. “You can speak!” exclaimed Emma.
“Yes! My name is Flicker. I guard this forest and its secrets. You are brave to have found my cabin,” Flicker said with a twinkle in his eye.
The girls quickly explained how they had lost their way. Flicker listened carefully and then smiled. “Don’t worry, I can help you. But first, would you like to play a game?”
The girls nodded excitedly, forgetting their fears. With Flicker's magic, they played until laughter filled the cabin. They chased colorful sparks that danced around the room and made wishes that turned into beautiful butterflies.
When it was time to leave, Flicker said, “Hold hands and close your eyes. I will guide you home.”
As they squeezed each other's hands tightly and closed their eyes, the girls felt a warm breeze surround them. Moments later, they opened their eyes to find themselves standing at the edge of their village, the enchanted forest behind them.
“Thank you, Flicker!” they shouted, looking back, but the cabin and the little dragon had vanished.
From that day on, Lily and Emma never ventured into the forest alone again. They cherished the adventure, knowing it was a special secret they would share for a lifetime.
And sometimes, on clear nights, they would see a flicker of light dancing in the treetops, reminding them of their friend, the dragon, who watched over them from afar.
