Once upon a time in a small village, there lived a clever young boy named Tom. Tom was known for his quick thinking and ability to solve problems before anyone else could even comprehend what was happening. One day, while walking through the village, he noticed that the annual fair preparations were going on. People were busy setting up stalls and decorating the square, but something seemed amiss.

Tom realized that a mysterious thief might be lurking around, planning to steal the prizes that were meant for the fair. He knew he must act fast. “I must warn the villagers,” Tom thought, “but I’ll need to be discreet.”

As Tom approached the town square, he decided he could alert the village guard before the thief could strike. “I should tell them immediately,” he thought. “They might be able to prevent any mischief.”

Just then, he spotted the guard lounging under a tree, oblivious to the impending danger. “I can’t waste time,” Tom said to himself. “If I don’t act quickly, the thief could get away with the prizes!”

He rushed over and explained the situation, saying, “You must not let your guard down! The fair is in danger, and we need to be vigilant.” The guard, taking Tom's words seriously, quickly gathered the other guards to set up a watch around the fair.

As they were preparing, the guard remarked, “I hope we can catch the thief before he knows we’re onto him.” Tom nodded, knowing that they had to be quick. “We should be ready to react immediately, just in case," he suggested. "We might be able to outsmart him if we work together.”

And so, they hid in strategic spots around the fair, eagerly waiting. Just before the festivities began, they spotted a shadowy figure sneaking towards the prize booth. “Look!” Tom whispered. “There he is! We can’t let him escape!”

In a flash, the guards sprang into action, catching the thief before he could even reach the prizes. The villagers were amazed at how quickly the situation was resolved. They cheered for Tom, who had saved the day.

From that day on, whenever someone was surprised by how quickly things could change, they would say, “It all happened before one could say Jack Robinson!” This saying became a reminder to always be alert and ready to act, just like Tom had done that fateful day.
