Для упражнения по переводу косвенной речи важно понять, как изменяются времена.
Рассмотрим каждое предложение в прямой речи и как оно меняется в косвенной:
“I didn’t go to school yesterday,” Luke said.
- Прямая речь: Past Simple ("didn't go").
- Косвенная речь: Past Perfect ("hadn't gone").
- Получается: Luke said that he hadn’t gone to school the day before.
“We played well but we lost the game,” Tom said.
- Прямая речь: Past Simple ("played", "lost").
- Косвенная речь: Past Perfect ("had played", "had lost").
- Получается: Tom said that they had played well but they had lost the game.
“I’ll fly to Madrid this Sunday,” Paula said.
- Прямая речь: Future Simple ("will fly").
- Косвенная речь: Future in the Past ("would fly").
- Получается: Paula said that she would fly to Madrid that Sunday.
“We’ll be here next Monday,” Charlie said.
- Прямая речь: Future Simple ("will be").
- Косвенная речь: Future in the Past ("would be").
- Получается: Charlie said that they would be there the following Monday.
“We went to the cinema last Tuesday,” John said.
- Прямая речь: Past Simple ("went").
- Косвенная речь: Past Perfect ("had gone").
- Получается: John said that they had gone to the cinema the previous Tuesday.
Обратите внимание, что временные указатели также меняются:
- "yesterday" на "the day before"
- "this Sunday" на "that Sunday"
- "next Monday" на "the following Monday"
- "last Tuesday" на "the previous Tuesday"
Эти трансформации стандартны для согласования времен в английском языке при переходе от прямой речи к косвенной.
