*11C The five senses* *1. a)* Hello, my friends. Some time ago, we had a lesson about how our brain works. Today we decided to do a project that will help us understand how we see things and how our brain and body work together. Let's try these fun and easy experiments to investigate how our senses work. Test your dominant side by completing a series of challenges. Write the results in your copybook. *Test your dominant side* What you will need: A pen or pencil, paper or a note pad to record your findings, an empty tube (an old paper towel tube is good), a cup of water, and a small ball (or something soft you can throw). 1) Work in small groups (3-4 people together). You will need to choose one person who will collect the information and record the results. 2) Write "left" or "right" next to each task depending on what side you use. 3) When you've finished all challenges, review the results and make your own conclusions about which is your dominant side. *Eye tests* 1. Which eye do you use to wink? 2. Which eye do you use to look through the empty tube? 3. Extend your arms in front of your body. Make a triangle shape using your fore fingers and thumbs. Bring your hands together, making the triangle smaller (the size of a coin will be good). Find a small object in the room and focus on it through the hole in your hands (using both eyes). Try closing just your left eye, and then just your right. If your view of the object changed when you closed your left eye, mark down "left", if it changed when you closed your right eye, mark "right".
