The Isle of Wight, on the south coast of England, is a popular tourist destination, which the public has voted one of the world’s ‘Top 10’ cycling destinations. That may be because the varied landscapes are perfect for the sport. (1) The rock, which is made of chalk, goes across the middle of the island from Culver Cliff to The Needles. The Needles form a line of white chalk rocks and are one of the world’s most photographed rock formations. The island is also great for those on foot. The island has a 107-km path around the whole island. Every year there is a walking festival, and many tourists go there to see the wildlife and appreciate the natural environment. Local cyclists and walkers have enjoyed the island for many years. (2) Many tourists from abroad also come. The Isle of Wight Festival takes place in summer at the beginning of June. (3) Today it is one of the largest music festivals in Europe. There is a dedicated kids’ zone with live music, comedy and theatre and also workshops where they can learn circus skills.
