Ниже приведён пример диалога в паре. Для каждого пункта формулируются косвенные вопросы (как их можно задать, когда говорим о другом человеке) и ответы друга. Вкратце о правилах конверсии: в косвенных вопросах часто ставится союз что/если/whether, времена сдвигаются на один шаг назад (настоящие — прошлое, будущее — условное), местоимения и указательные слова меняются соответственно контексту. 1) I asked my friend what he was and how old he was. He said that he was a student and that he was twenty-one years old. 2) I asked him whether he lived far from the college. He said that he did not live far from the college. 3) I asked him whether he would have an English lesson the next day. He said that he would have an English lesson the next day. 4) I asked him what department he studied at the college.
