Science is an activity aimed at developing and systematizing objective knowledge about reality. An objective way of studying the world distinguishes science from other ways of knowing. Following the scientific method forms a scientific way of thinking. The structure of the modern scientific method includes: 1) Observation of facts and measurement, quantitative or qualitative description of observations; 2) Analysis of the observation results and their systematization, singling out the significant and the secondary information; 3) Generalization (synthesis) and formulation of hypotheses and theories; 4) Prediction, or formulating consequences from a proposed hypothesis or accepted theory, using deduction, induction, or other logical methods; 5) Verification of predicted consequences by means of experiment. The need to prove everything, to substantiate it with verifiable data, to confirm theoretical conclusions with the results of experiments distinguishes science from other forms of knowledge. There are three main directions in scientific research: Fundamental scientific research deeply and comprehensively studies the subject in order to obtain new fundamental knowledge, as well as to elucidate the patterns of the studied phenomena; Applied scientific research uses the achievements of fundamental science to solve practical problems. The result of the study is the creation and improvement of new technologies. Research and Development connects science with production, thus providing scientific, technical and engineering studies of this project. Sometimes the results obtained can lead to a scientific and technological revolution.
