You’ll want to try pelmeni (dumplings), hearty borscht, and especially omul, the famous Baikal fish, often smoked and served with rye bread. It’s simple but incredibly satisfying. If you ever visit, a day trip to Listvyanka by Baikal would be perfect. You can walk along the shore, look out at the clear blue water, and learn more about the lake’s unique ecosystem.
