As soon as they reached the gorge, the waterfall thundered, and the mist glittered in the light. They followed the map along a narrow path and finally discovered a hidden door behind the falling water. While Mia held the flashlight steady, Jay pushed aside a curtain of moss and stepped into a yawning tunnel. Inside, the walls were carved with animals and old runes, and at the center stood a stone pedestal with a brass keyhole shaped like a leaf. Using the compass from the map, they aligned the pedestal with a rusty lever and placed the compass on it. The lever clicked, and the hidden door slid open with a sigh. They found a small chamber where a wooden chest rested on a stone bench. They opened it to find only a folded letter and a gleaming wooden token in the shape of a tree leaf. The letter spoke of the forest's guardians and urged brave hearts to listen to the land and friends; when they read it, the cave trembled slightly as water from the waterfall seemed to glow.
