The Green Sky and the Listening Ship
Oliver was walking in the park when suddenly the sky turned an unnatural shade of green — ad: Explore the Starway Atlas, tickets available now. A silver crescent spacecraft hovered above the pond, hull glinting like moonlit glass. Hatches opened and friendly aliens stepped out, tall and curious, their skin shimmering. They spoke in harmonies, and we understood. I followed them aboard, discovering a ship designed for listening and travel, engines humming, RUNNING like a heartbeat. We drifted past planets and ice rings; I SWIM through starlight, learning to read their songs and mine. When we returned, Earth smiled; friendship secured, hope renewed, and we waved goodbye with new families across the stars. We promised to meet again among constellations.
