The Leaning Tower of Pisa in Italy was built as the city's bell tower. However, the architects at the time weren't experienced enough. Therefore, it was built on soft ground, and as soon as it was completed, it began to slowly lean. Over the years, there have been many attempts to stop the tower's tilt. At one point, people removed stones from the bottom to install strong metal rods, but the stones removed were part of the foundation, causing the tower to lean even further! It has since been reinforced to correct this. Today, the tower can still be seen leaning on one side. It is covered in marble and looks very beautiful. However, unfortunately, it was closed to the public in 1990 after a busload of tourists reported that the tower nearly fell over completely!
