Saving money at young age To put it simple, saving money means not spending it now, but setting it aside in order to spend in the future. There is no "right" method of doing it, and no sum is too small or too big to save. You should realise that forming the habit of saving on a regular basis is much more significant than the amount of money you save. Small amounts saved regularly can become great savings over time.  An important reason why you should save some of your pocket money, is to help you achieve your goals in life. To illustrate, I had a goal to buy a photography course, which costed $1,000. In order to do it, I started saving minimum $100 each month out of my scholarship at university. At the end of the year, I had $1,200 saved in my money box. Thus, I could to use this to reach my goal to continue my education. About 75% of teenagers would say, "I am too young, I don't work, saving money isn't so important for me." The truth is, there is no perfect time to start saving. People of all ages can benefit from saving. However, the younger teens are when they start saving, the less likely they will have financial problems as adults. Apart from that, starting early will give you the advantage of time — time for your savings to add up little by little. Moreover, you can let your money work for you by putting it in a bank.  For young people who have few expenses, the process of saving is quite simple. You only have to decide if you are going to spend your money or save it. In addition to the decision to save, you need to create a plan. The plan will allow you to balance between saving money and spending it on necessary things.  There are two means that are helpful in creating this plan. They are goals and budget. A goal is something to work toward, your final destination. When you know that progress is being made toward achieving a goal, it motivates you to stick with it, even if the process is not easy. That is why setting financial goals is an important part of the savings process. While goals give you motivation and the end point, a budget is a plan for spending and saving that will help you get there. Here, you need to plan how much money you will set aside each time you receive it. Otherwise, your money may run out or be spent on something else. Make sure, that your plan is realistic. Goals that are set too high will lead to failure and may disappoint you. For example, if you earn $200 per month, and you have to spend $120 on your necessities, saving $150 savings is not realistic. A more realistic goal is to save $80 or even less each month for a longer period of time. Lastly, a wise man once said: "More money won't make you rich without discipline". As you can see from above, discipline is a key to saving up money, along with setting goals, planning a budget, and keeping regular settings aside. 13.

  1. Pocket money lets people get what they dream of.
3 (Not stated)
  1. If you are 15, you are too young to start saving.
2 (False)
  • Почему: В тексте сказано, что «no perfect time to start saving… younger teens are when they start saving» и что молодые подростки начинают экономить, чем ранее — тем меньше рисков в будущем.
  1. People have low salaries if they didn't save up v in their childhood.
3 (Not stated)
  1. Saving up is especially difficult for teens.
2 (False)
  • Почему: В тексте прямо сказано, что для молодых людей с небольшими расходами процесс сохранения достаточно прост («the process of saving is quite simple»).
  1. Setting goals is helpful because it allows you v to understand how you proceed toward them.
1 (True)
  1. If you earn $200 per month, it would be wise v to set aside $150 monthly.
2 (False)
  1. If you have troubles with saving up, your parents can help you.
3 (Not stated)
