Ead the poem, which two of the underlying words should be crossed out practice reading the poem aloud. I told (her) that I loved her, I said (her) my love was true, she told (me) she won't see me and I said (me) she loved me too

Cross out: the second her and the fourth me — the words after said.

Correct version:

I told her that I loved her,
I said my love was true,
she told me she won’t see me,
and I said she loved me too.

Rule:

  • tell + person: tell her, tell me
  • say + information: say something, say that…
  • If we name the listener after say, use to: say to her, say to me.

So I said her… and I said me… are incorrect.
