Jan’s mother works in a school – she’s a teacher. Her father works near the pyramids in Egypt but he isn’t Egyptian, he’s English. Yesterday it was Jan’s birthday – she was 14 but she didn’t have a party. Yesterday, her father sent her a present. It was a statue of Amon. Amon is the god of travel. Jan likes old things from Ancient Egypt. She doesn’t like modern things. Amon took Jan to Egypt. In a special room she saw a lot of coffins with mummies inside them!
