Как выбрать время

• Past Simple — законченное или короткое событие:
  phoned, heard, saw, got, arrived, rang.
• Past Continuous — действие, которое длилось в определённый момент:
  was/were + глагол-ing: was parking, were playing.
• В конструкции when обычно длительное действие ставится в Past Continuous, а короткое событие — в Past Simple:
  We were having dinner when the lights went out.
• С while часто используются два длительных действия:
  Dorothy was recovering while her husband was decorating.
• В отрицании: didn’t + начальная форма глагола:
  didn’t clean, не didn’t cleaned.
• В № 7 и № 14 указан точный момент времени, поэтому используется Past Continuous.
