A possible 2-minute talk
Good morning, everyone. Today I would like to talk about why recycling is important and what we can do to help.
The recycling logo consists of three arrows forming a triangle. Because the arrows follow one another, they show a continuous cycle: used materials are collected, sorted and processed, and then turned into new products. The logo reminds us that materials do not have to become waste after one use. It is also connected with the three Rs: reduce, reuse and recycle.
How does recycling work? First, we separate rubbish and put paper, glass, metal, plastic and other materials into the correct bins. Recycling centres collect, sort and clean them. Next, machines process the materials: paper becomes pulp, glass is melted, and plastic is turned into small pieces. Factories use these materials to make bottles, boxes, clothes and many other things. We then buy and use these products, so the cycle can start again.
Recycling saves natural resources, energy and water. It reduces pollution and the amount of rubbish sent to landfills. We should reduce our consumption and reuse items whenever possible, but buying recycled products is also important. It creates demand for recycled materials and encourages companies to produce goods more responsibly.
So, when you go shopping, look for products made from recycled materials. Your choice supports a cleaner future. Every small action matters. Thank you.
