Как выбрать was или were

• was — с I, he, she, it и с одним человеком или предметом:
  She was, Cathy was.
• were — с you, we, they и несколькими людьми или предметами:
  They were, Betty and her mum were.
• Отрицание: wasn’t = was not, weren’t = were not.

Проверка: во всех предложениях форма глагола согласуется с подлежащим.
