My favourite story is “Bezhin Meadow” by Ivan Turgenev. It is a realistic short story from “A Sportsman’s Sketches”. The narrator is a hunter who gets lost and spends the night near a fire with five peasant boys. The main characters are the boys, especially Pavlusha. I like the mysterious atmosphere, descriptions of nature and the boys’ exciting stories. The story is interesting and shows the beauty of the countryside.
