Two-minute talk

Stress is a natural reaction of our body and mind to difficult or demanding situations. It can be caused by exams, too much homework, lack of sleep, problems with friends or family, and big changes. Sometimes even small things, like being late, can make us stressed.

When we are stressed, our body prepares to react. Our heart beats faster, our muscles become tense, and we may breathe more quickly. We can sweat, get a headache or stomach ache, and find it difficult to sleep. Short-term stress can help us concentrate and do something quickly. However, if stress lasts for a long time, it can make us tired, irritable and less focused. It may also harm our health.

For me, the most stressful things are tests, many deadlines and speaking in front of the class. I also feel stressed when I have not slept enough or when I leave important work until the last minute.

To relieve stress, I try to plan my work and divide large tasks into smaller steps. I take short breaks, go for a walk, listen to music and do some simple exercises. Deep breathing also helps me calm down. I try to sleep well and talk to someone I trust when I feel overwhelmed. Stress is a normal part of life, but we can learn to manage it and take care of our bodies and minds.
