Краткий пересказ на английском:
Life on the International Space Station is very different from life on Earth. The ISS is about 360 kilometres above Earth and travels at almost 30,000 kilometres per hour. It moves so fast that astronauts could travel from Earth to the Moon and back in one day.
Zero gravity changes the astronauts’ daily routine. They cannot take ordinary showers, so they wash with a vacuum hose. They use no-rinse shampoo and swallow their toothpaste. The astronauts clean the whole station every day because bacteria grow quickly. However, they do not wash dishes: they put them in plastic bags and send them back to Earth.
To sleep, astronauts strap themselves into sleeping bags on the wall. They cover their eyes because the Sun rises and sets every 45 minutes. Since their muscles do not work against gravity, they exercise for two hours every day.
Food must be fixed in place, or it would float away. Salt and pepper are liquid, and food is stored specially because there are no refrigerators. In their free time, astronauts read books, watch films, send emails and take photographs of Earth.
