Как это понять

• Время: минуты до 30 говорим с past, после 30 — с to до следующего часа.
  8:25 → 25 минут после 8; 1:45 → 15 минут до 2, то есть a quarter to two.

• Лишнее слово: надо определить общий признак остальных слов.
  Например, bank, baker’s, library — места, а vase — предмет.
  first, ninth, sixth — порядковые числительные, а two — количественное.

• Предлоги места:
  opposite — напротив, between — между, on — на поверхности, in — внутри, behind — за.

• a / some / any:
  a — с единственным числом; some — в утверждениях; any — в отрицаниях и вопросах.

• at / in / on:
  on — с датами и днями; in — с годами, месяцами и частями дня; at — с точным временем и выражением at the weekend.
