Как это работает

Используется эмфатическая конструкция it-cleft:

\[ \text{It is/was} + \text{выделенная часть} + \text{that/who} + \text{остальное предложение} \]

• who — если выделяем человека; that — для предметов, мест, причин и т. д.
• Выделенная часть ставится сразу после is/was.
• В № 3 предлог to остаётся в конце: listen to → …that we are going to listen to.
• В № 2 и 5 выделяется целая причина: only because of…, because…, поэтому она целиком идёт после is/was.
• Проверить легко: если убрать рамку It is/was … that, получится исходная мысль:
  His voice impressed me. / We put up with… / They couldn’t stop…
