Short answer: This is a speaking task, so there is no single correct answer. A good answer gives an opinion supported by the text, then describes your own routine at the same times, and finally says how much time you spend online. Here is a model—replace the personal details with yours.
3a, question a
I think her day is only partly typical of a high-school student. The early start, classes, homework and social media are common. However, she is busy with volunteering and marching band until 6:30, has dinner alone and goes to bed at about 1 a.m. She gets only about five hours of sleep, so her day is much busier and later than a typical one.
Partner: I partly agree. Clubs and homework are normal, but going to bed at 1 a.m. is not healthy.
3a, question b
At 6:15 a.m. I get up and get dressed. At 6:30 I have breakfast, and at 6:50 I leave home and take the bus. My lessons start at 7:30 a.m. At 2:30 p.m. I go to basketball practice and get home at about 6:30 p.m. At 7:00 p.m. I have dinner with my family. At 7:30 p.m. I start my homework. At 9:30 p.m. I finish and relax—I listen to music or watch videos. At 11:00 p.m. I go to bed.
3a, question c
On an average day, I spend about two hours online. I chat with friends, watch short videos, listen to music and look up information for school.
In the text, the girl spends at least 2.5 hours online: about 30 minutes before dinner and about two hours in bed.
3b, report about your partner
I learned that my partner gets up at 6:30, plays basketball after school and spends about three hours online a day. I was surprised that they go to bed at 11:30, not at 1 a.m.
How to make a similar answer
- For question a, say “I think…” and give a clear opinion: “only partly typical”, “typical” or “not typical”. Then give two details from the text with “because” or “for example”. Use “However” to contrast.
- For question b, use “At + time”: At 6:15 a.m. I get up. Do not say in 6:15. Use the present simple for routines and put the times in order.
- For question c, use “I spend + time + online” and “I use the Internet to + verb”. Compare your habits with the girl’s if you want.
- For the report, use the third person: “My partner gets up…”, “I learned that…” or “My partner said that…”.
Check: 1 a.m. to 6:15 a.m. is 5 hours 15 minutes, so “about five hours” is accurate. Online: 30 minutes at 7:00–7:30 plus about two hours at 11:00–1:00 gives at least 2.5 hours; if she uses her phone from 9:30 to 11:00, it is more. The model routine includes the text’s key times.
