   Возможен и вариант: This leather bag was given to me by my parents…

4. Correct the mistakes

1. My old shorts were eaten by my dog.
2. I am selling my little home in the centre of town. It was built 25 years ago.
3. My birthday party was very enjoyable. All the people were dancing.
   Также правильно: All the people danced.
4. My mobile is fantastic. It was made in Mexico.
5. Do you know about my new flat? I moved there two weeks ago.

Нужно отметить событие, которое обычно происходит раньше:

Как понять принцип

Пассив в Past Simple:
was/were + V3 — третья форма глагола.

Например:
They opened the gardens. → The gardens were opened.
The president opened the museum. → The museum was opened by the president.

• by добавляем, если важно, кто совершил действие.
• Если деятель неизвестен — they, someone — by обычно не пишем.
• Глагол be согласуется с новым подлежащим:
  shorts → were, mobile → was.

Почему в №3 упражнения 4 не пассив: dance — непереходный глагол, у него нет прямого дополнения, поэтому люди не могут «быть станцованными». Правильно: people danced / were dancing.

В №5: I moved there — активный залог, «я переехал».
I was moved значило бы «меня переместили» или «я был растроган».
