№ 10

  2. He may not be satisfied with the results.
  3. Nick may be on holiday.
  4. May I ask you a few questions?
  5. Dan may not be good at Physics.
  6. You may not pick flowers in the rose garden.
  7. She may not always tell the truth.
  8. You may be right.
  9. May I wait for the headmaster here?
  10. You may not come into this laboratory.
  11. She may not be keen on knitting.
  12. May I use this phone?

№ 11

  1. I should study hard to be ready for the test. (образец)
  2. He should take his dog to the vet.
  3. She should visit her relatives more often.
  4. We should go to bed early.
  5. You should ask your friends to help you.
  6. They should join a gym.
  7. They should push the door.

Как понять принцип

  • May / may not используется для возможности («возможно / возможно не») и для формального разрешения или запрета («можно / нельзя»).
  • После may / may not идёт глагол без to:
He may be…, You may not come…
  • В вопросах: May I + глагол? — «Можно мне…?»
    May I ask…?, May I use…?
  • В № 6 и № 10 may not = «нельзя»:
You may not pick flowers…, You may not come into…
  • Should — это совет: «следует / стоит». После should тоже ставим глагол без to и без -s для he/she:
He should take, а не He should takes.
  • В № 11 глагол выбираем по смыслу: take a dog to the vet, visit relatives, go to bed, ask friends, join a gym, push the door.

Проверка: после модальных глаголов нет to и нет окончания -s: May I ask?, He may not be…, She should visit… — всё верно.
