Тема: Jobs and Professions (Card №1)
Готовый короткий монолог — можно учить почти как есть (≈1,5–2 минуты речи):
I'd like to talk about jobs and professions.
There are lots of jobs around us: doctors, teachers, drivers, engineers, firefighters, programmers, shop assistants. Some jobs are dangerous (firefighters, police officers), some are very demanding (surgeons, pilots), and some are well-paid (IT specialists, lawyers). People also work differently: many work 9–5, nurses and shop assistants often work shifts, some people have long hours, and some work on their own as freelancers.
To be successful in a profession you need certain features of character: patience and kindness for a teacher or a doctor, courage and a quick reaction for a firefighter, creativity and attention to detail for a designer, discipline and responsibility for any job.
Students can also earn some money: they can deliver newspapers, walk dogs, babysit, work as waiters or couriers in summer, or tutor younger pupils.
The most suitable job for me is a programmer (→ подставь своё), because I like working with computers and I'm good at maths. I wouldn't decide to work as a surgeon, because it's too stressful and I'm not good at biology.
