The pictures show Toothless, a Night Fury, and a Gronckle. I think these illustrations were chosen for the project because they create a clear contrast: one dragon is sleek, dark and mysterious, while the other is round, bright and almost comical. This helps show how varied dragon species are.
The dragons have a lot in common. Both are dragons with wings, tails and scales, and both can fly. They are also intelligent creatures that can form a close bond with a human rider.
The main differences are their bodies and abilities. Toothless is slender, fast and very agile, while the Gronckle is heavy, round and much slower. Toothless is dark blue or black with large wings; the Gronckle is beige-brown with a wide mouth and short wings. Toothless can shoot plasma blasts, whereas a Gronckle can eat rocks and breathe lava.
I prefer the Night Fury type, like Toothless, because it is fast, graceful and loyal. I also like its sleek design and expressive eyes.
How to do a similar task
- Name both creatures and their types.
- Explain why the pictures suit the project: they show a strong visual contrast.
- Give 2–3 similarities using “Both dragons…”
- Give 2–3 differences in the same categories: body, colour, speed, abilities. Use “Unlike the Gronckle, Toothless is…”
- Finish with “I prefer … because …” and give two reasons.
