Краткий ответ и ключевые шаги

Так как сам текст не попал в кадр, я привожу стандартные ответы для этого учебного текста об Оксбридже. Они опираются на подсказки в скобках к каждому вопросу (в них уже заложена структура будущего предложения).

11. Write the summary of text by answering the questions (Краткий пересказ):

1. The word "Oxbridge" is a combination of the words Oxford and Cambridge.
2. Oxford University is the oldest. It is about 900 years old.
3. In 1209, some scholars fled from Oxford to Cambridge.
4. They founded a new university in Cambridge.
5. Since those times their traditions and academic standards have been steady.
6. Now these universities are competing for the best students and money (или funding).
7. Oxford and Cambridge are made up of more than 30 colleges (или dozens of colleges).
8. They house about 30,000 students.
9. Oxbridge students are striving to maintain their high academic reputation and traditions.

Принцип выполнения задания 11: Чтобы написать summary, нужно сделать три шага:

1. Найти в тексте предложение, отвечающее на вопрос.
2. Превратить вопрос в утвердительное предложение (поменять порядок слов).
3. Использовать подсказку в скобках как «каркас» предложения.

12. Discussion Points (Примерные ответы для обсуждения):

1. Would you like to study in the UK? Why? — Yes, I would like to study in the UK because it has a world-famous education system, and it would be a great chance to improve my English. (No, I wouldn't, because it is very expensive and far from home.)
2. Why are Oxford and Cambridge always at the top? — They have centuries-old traditions, the best professors, a tutorial system (small groups) and huge financial support.
