Short answer (model)
1. What is the name of your sea animal? My sea animal is a dolphin.
2. What does it look like? It is big and grey. It has a long nose, a fin on its back and a strong tail.
3. Where does it live? It lives in the sea — in warm and cold oceans.
4. What does it eat? It eats fish and small squid.
5. Other interesting facts Dolphins are very clever. They can jump high and "talk" to each other with sounds.
Now think about:
- What can hurt your sea animal? — Plastic bags and rubbish in the water, dirty water, big ships and fishing nets.
- What can happen when it can't get the food? — It gets weak and hungry, it may get ill, and baby dolphins can't grow.
(Small note: the line "Your name …" at the top of the box is just the title — you write your own name there if the teacher asks. Question 1 is about the animal's name.)
How the task works — the 5 steps
Every question asks for one piece of information, so each answer is one short sentence with a simple pattern:
| Question | Pattern | Useful words |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Name | My sea animal is a … | dolphin, octopus, jellyfish, shark, turtle, crab |
| 2. Look | It is + size/colour. It has + body part. | big/small, long/short, grey/blue/orange; fins, tail, tentacles, shell, scales |
| 3. Home | It lives in … | the sea, the ocean, a coral reef, deep water, cold water |
| 4. Food | It eats … | fish, small crabs, squid, plankton, seaweed |
| 5. Fact | It can … / It is … | jump, swim fast, change colour, hide, sleep in the water |
So the "recipe" is: name → describe → where → what it eats → one surprise fact. Change the animal and the same five sentences work again.
The two discussion questions
They are not about facts — they are about danger and consequences. Answer in two short steps:
- Name the danger (rubbish, plastic, dirty water, big ships, nets, other animals).
- Say the result with can: "It can get ill." "It can die." "It can't find food, so it gets weak."
The second question is a cause-and-effect chain: no food → weak → ill → maybe dies, and you can add "and its babies can't grow."
