   (Естественнее по смыслу: It will be an English-style birthday party!)

2. There is a wonderful park in our neighbourhood. It is next to our school. There are many huge old trees and beautiful flowers in the park. In the middle of the park there is a fountain. In the northern part of the park there is my favourite cafe. I like the fruit ice cream there very much.

3. — Is this your new flat?
   — Yes.
   — How many rooms are there in it?
   — Four.
   — Which room is your favourite?
   — The library. We have a lot of books on history. In the corner there is my favourite old green armchair.

9b

— Good afternoon. May I speak to Boris?
— Just a minute.
— Uncle Borya, hello. I’m sorry to call you at the office.
— Hello, Tolya. What’s happened?
— My tap is leaking, I don’t know what to do. And something is wrong with the computer.
— Call Mikhail Ivanovich, the plumber, about the tap. I’ll send you the number. What time is it?
— Four o’clock.
— He’ll come or send someone. I’ll call in the evening.

Последняя строка в кадре обрывается. Если там было «я позвоню тебе», то перевод будет: I’ll call you in the evening.

Что важно понять

• \(\text{at}\) — время на часах: at three o’clock, at half past four.
• \(\text{in}\) — месяц, год, сезон, часть дня: in May, in 2001, in the morning.
• \(\text{on}\) — день и дата: on Saturday, on the sixth of September.
• «половина пятого» — это 4:30, поэтому half past four, а не «half past five».
• Публичные места: at the post office, at the library, at the chemist’s.
• В 9a конструкция there is / there are ставится перед предметом: There is a fountain… There are many trees…
• Притяжательный \('s\): my sister’s bedroom, our uncle’s study.
