Lesson 5 What do you think about rules
- Choose a project you'd like to do. www.connexions-direct.com Project 1 Our Class Safety Rules • Write what safety rules you follow. • Make new rules and write about why these rules are useful. • Make a poster about these rules with your comments.
Project 1. Our Class Safety Rules
1. Safety rules I follow
- I walk in the classroom and in the corridors. I do not run.
- I keep my bag under my desk so nobody trips over it.
- I use scissors and other sharp objects carefully.
- I tell the teacher if I see water on the floor, broken glass or a damaged socket.
2. New rules and why they are useful
- Keep the space near the door clear.
This rule is useful because in an emergency we can leave the classroom quickly, and nobody trips over bags. - Walk on the right side of the stairs and hold the handrail.
This rule is useful because it prevents collisions and falls. - Put a warning sign next to spilled water and tell the teacher at once.
This rule is useful because other students can see the danger and do not slip.
3. Poster Title: Our Class Safety Rules
- I follow: walk, don’t run; keep bags under desks; use tools carefully.
- Our new rules: keep the door clear; hold the handrail; mark spilled water.
- Comments: “Walk — don’t run!” “Clear the door!” “Spill? Tell an adult!”
- Bottom line: Safety is everyone’s job!
Present Simple: I walk, I don’t run, I use…
Keep…, Walk…, Put…
This rule is useful because…
