The last book I read was The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. I read it because my friends like it a lot.
The novel is set in a future country called Panem. Every year the government forces teenagers to take part in the Hunger Games, a televised fight for survival. The main character, Katniss Everdeen, volunteers to take her younger sister’s place. The book is exciting and sometimes frightening. It also raises important questions about inequality, courage and loyalty.
I really enjoyed the book because the plot is fast-moving and Katniss is a strong, believable character. Some scenes were shocking, but they made me think. I would recommend The Hunger Games to teenagers who like adventure and dystopian stories. It is the first book in a series, so readers can continue the story.
