Привет! Давай вместе посмотрим на эту картинку и решим задания в тесте.

Вначале мы видим список слов, которые нужно вставить в предложения в первом разделе. Так как слов больше, чем необходимо, некоторые останутся неиспользованными. Затем есть задания на выбор правильных слов, времена глаголов и соединение предложений.

Начнем по порядку.

Для раздела I:

1. They told John to stop beating around the bush and tell us what had happened.
2. Sam built his business from scratch, and considers his success a personal triumph.
3. Henry had to overcome many obstacles before he was able to open up his own business.
4. Anne's hopes for a promotion were dashed when the position was given to someone else.
5. The students were outspoken about the need for improving library facilities at the university.
6. Why don't you try applying for a scholarship? With your high grades, I'm sure they'll give it to you!
7. Tom's thinking of traveling around the world after graduating from university.
8. Jeremy's trying his best to get high marks, as he has pinned his hopes on winning a scholarship.
9. If you're having problems at university, you should talk to your professors; dropping out is not the answer.
10. Jane had always longed to do a postgraduate degree, but had never found the time.

Обрати внимание, что слова "interactive" и "banished" в этом разделе не использовались.

Для раздела II, правильные варианты:

1. has taught
2. defeat
3. take

5. insurmountable

Раздел III, верные формы глаголов (помни, что нужно использовать правильное время глагола):

1. had prepared
2. would say
3. try
4. had chosen
5. knew
6. had finished
7. would watch
